Problem with Romeo Disk Image Creator

Postby Edger on Wed Dec 12, 2007 2:05 pm

Can`t create bootable CD based on BCDW loader. CD contains Windows PE environment. Steps: Chosing folder with source files -> Select destination path for iso -> Chosing boot image -> Press Create button.
Problems:
-Process of creation iso is VERY long;
-CD is not bootable.

Could you upload your boot image on FTP somewhere please? We need it to check the problem.
And describe your computer params? CPU, Memory?

Hello!

What kind of boot image do you use? I mean file's extension.
If I'm right - you are using Romeo Disc Image Creator?

Yes. Here it is: http://rapidshare.com/files/76233491/loader.bin.html
My config:
i845/celeron 2.4GHz/768Mb/DVD-RW Nec 4550

For making iso i use cdimage.exe with following script:

@echo off
TITLE Creating ISO Image of BCDW project
ECHO.

:: Path to distrib
SET DISTRO=n:\bootcdxp

:: Destination
SET OUTPUT=d:

:: Label of iso
SET LABEL=bootcdxp

:: removing attributes
ECHO Removing any possible attributes set on %DISTRO% and its subfolders...
attrib -R -H "%DISTRO%" /S /D
ECHO.

ECHO Creating ISO...

:: For BCDW 2.0a1
n:\CDIMAGE.EXE -l"%LABEL%" -h -j1 -oci -m -b"%DISTRO%\bcdw\loader.bin" "%DISTRO%" "%OUTPUT%\%LABEL%.ISO"

If you don't need the ISO image - you can use Burn Now! feature for source directory and specify boot image.
:idea: Also select Custom media emulation type and 4 sectors to load in Boot Image tag.
We will make this settings default in next build.

Thank You, i got bootable CD with these settings!

My boot CD project has around 4500 files and time for building image takes approximately 24 minutes, on my config. Using cdimage takes only 2-3 minutes.
